Joining the meaningful and celebratory atmosphere, Ms. Tran Bich Thuy, Country Director of HelpAge International (HAI) in Vietnam, attended the launching ceremony of the \u201cAction Month for Older Persons in Vietnam 2025.\u201d The event reaffirmed HAI\u2019s strong commitment to working alongside the Government and partners in Vietnam towards a more inclusive and age-friendly society.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

A meaningful and inspiring launching ceremony<\/h1>\n\n

On the morning of September 27 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Association of the Elderly (VAE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB), held the launching ceremony of the \u201cAction Month for Older Persons in Vietnam 2025\u201d under the theme \u201cPromoting the Role of Older Persons in the Era of National Advancement.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ceremony was attended by senior leaders of the Party, the State, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, various ministries and agencies, representatives of international organizations, and outstanding older persons. The presence of high-ranking leaders demonstrated the deep concern and strong commitment of the Party and the State to the care and promotion of the role of nearly 17 million older persons across the country.<\/p>\n\n

In their remarks at the event, the leaders emphasized that older persons are a \u201cvaluable asset\u201d and the \u201ctowering trees\u201d of the nation. They also called on all levels, sectors, and the entire society to continue joining hands, contributing efforts and resources to further enhance activities that promote health care and improve the material and spiritual well-being of older persons.<\/p>\n

The delegates performed the ceremonial launch of the humanitarian program \u201cBright Eyes for Older Persons\u201d for the 2025\u20132028 period<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

As part of the program, the Organizing Committee launched the humanitarian initiative \u201cBright Eyes for Older Persons\u201d for the 2025\u20132028 period, presented gifts to senior citizens, and organized free eye examinations for participating delegates.<\/p>\n\n

An Honorary Certificate \u2013 A Source of Motivation for Stronger Commitments<\/h1>\n\n

With a mission to promote the well-being and inclusion of older persons, reduce poverty, and combat discrimination in all aspects of life, HelpAge International (HAI) is honored to be a long-term partner of the VAE. Attending the event, Ms. Tran Bich Thuy, Country Director, expressed her pride in witnessing Vietnam\u2019s remarkable progress in advancing the well-being of older persons.<\/p>\n\n

Also at the ceremony, in the joyful spirit of the Action Month, HAI was honored to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the VAE for its active and effective contributions to the cause of protecting, caring for, and promoting the role of older persons in Vietnam over the years.<\/p>\n

Building on this spirit, HAI reaffirms its commitment to closely collaborate with the VAE and relevant government agencies through concrete actions:<\/p>\n\n

    Promoting ageing-responsive policies:<\/strong> Advocating for the development and implementation of comprehensive policies that not only ensure social security and a long-term care system but also create enabling environments for older persons to continue participating in and contributing to society\u2014aligned with the context of Vietnam\u2019s rapidly ageing population.<\/p> \n \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n

  • Raising community awareness:<\/strong> Implementing communication activities to eliminate age-related stereotypes, promote positive images of older persons, and work towards a healthy and active ageing society.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    The Action Month for Older Persons in Vietnam 2025 has officially begun.
